Before the 2022 Dragon Boat Festival, both
Mother and I were infected, and for the purpose
of quarantine, I returned home to live with
her. After that, I created this painting to record
the experience. I made several modifications
through the process, only to finalize the work just
recently. In recent years, I have been copying the
clerical script of “Zhang Qian Monument” and
Chen Man-sheng in the Qing dynasty. The styles
naturally flowed out when I wrote this work; also,
I studied Jin Nong and Deng Wan-bai before, and
their styles can also be seen. Therefore, this work
exhibits complicated styles, and I spent great
effort to harmonize them. As for whether I have
done a good job, I leave that judgement to the
viewers!
