Description
The artist uses granulated herbal medicines to
paint pictures of planets on people’s backs, and
asked professional therapist to perform cupping
therapy. When the red marks from cupping blend
in with the pictures of planets, they present a
picture of the micro-universe of the body. In the
process, the body may be bruised or scarred due
to the external force; Using the marks on the
body, or sense of pain, to link the relationships
among body (water), universe (substance), and
personal emotions, and exploring the construction,
dissipation, reconstruction, and restoration of body
and universe through the work. Also, the work is
associate with a folk legend—when the nine planets
align, spacetime will be misplaced, allowing people
to travel through spacetime and go back in time to
the past.
