Description
The “Metaworld” series is a series of imagined machines
designed by the artist for people’s various desires in the
virtual world of metaverse; from food, clothing, housing,
and transportation, the artist compares and reflects on the
differences between the real and virtual worlds in various
aspects of needs. The cyber world is woven by desires,
reflecting the “appearance” of mankind’s basic needs—
what will these new-generation “Primo 3M+” be wearing?
The streamed videos on social media become the new
human’s non-physical appearances, and I assemble these
symbols into machines: an imagined machine that is being
worn and used in the metaverse, looping and changing
constantly like a kaleidoscope, throwing the topics back
at audience. The work includes two parts: a dynamic
image—like a design drawing of machine, creating the
illusion of “pseudo-science;” the other is an animation loop,
displaying the emptiness of the machine through actual
operation.
