Description
“Sulphur �ire �ishing” is a traditional method in
Jinshan area in northern Taiwan. First, acetylene و೥
is produced by adding water to sulphur, and
then acetylene is set on �ire to attract �ish.
This method preserves the ecosystem, while
also satisfying people’s appetite, as well as the
ᐠ˦ࣉ௡ Sulphur Fire Fishingā59Ò59cm و၇jߕݓ͓/ ˓ʈɪ੹
livelihood of �ishermen. Sulphur �ire �ishing Technique: Mezzotint/Colored by Hand Printmaking
is the fruit of ancestor’s wisdom, in line with
modern sustainable development and ecological
protection principles, and should be passed on. I
use the strong contrast of mezzotint to create the
unique atmosphere of sulphur �ire �ishing.
