Description
The artist specifically highlights the traditional
ink wash strokes and swiftly introduces
Western-style skills employed for flowers, birds
and portraits in this marvelous painting. The
traditional Chinese dress worn by the lady was
highly romanticized to accentuate a widely-
recognized oriental tenderness. The background
was presented with a style recognized in ancient
Chinese ink wash paintings to create contrasting
but complementary time settings.
