Description
Contemporary civilization’s progress
has made the night brighter but has
diminished humanity’s imagination and
reverence for the natural world. The
strange creatures and celestial stories 第 一 名
found in ancient texts have mostly
been replaced by science today.
The artist believes that spirits still
exist in nature, but they have become
difficult to perceive as respect fades
away. This work uses the toad as a First Prize
symbol of the moon, depicting a scene
from right to left that shows the toad,
the descending moon, and finally
its disappearance. It represents the
guardian spirits of nature gradually
vanishing along with the loss of
reverence.
