CHEN Han-Kuang and PU Hsin-Yu were both
literati who came to Taiwan around 1949. They
admired each other greatly, and corresponded
thorugh poetry, leaving behind many splendid
works. This calligraphic work features two
poems by CHEN Han-Kuang titled “Inscription
on Painting Co-created with PU Hsin-Yu,”
revealing a glimpse of their friendship. Their
thoughts of leaving their hometowns and
nostalgic longings are deeply embedded
within these works, taking the thoughts of
readers to distant places. Written in clerical
script, it pays homage to the early artists.
