Short List
Writing the third and fourth verses of Tang
poet DU Fu's poem "Mountain Gazing" that
praises Mount Tai in seal script: "Nature's
clockwork is subtly marvelous, dividing day
and night." This extols the fantastical beauty
bestowed upon Mount Tai by nature, akin to
the transformation of iron into gold. Using the
style of bronze inscription, I try to manifest
the bold and simple charm of bronze ware,
depicting the bold and precipitous demeanor,
with lively twists similar to modern cursive
script.
