Award of Merit
Thr ough the cr e ativ e method of
deconstructing objects, representing the
historicality and locality of Taiwan's old houses
within the space the artist has created,
contemplating on the changes in appearance
of old houses during Taiwan's modernization
process, and reflecting on the connections
between the relationship and memories
between "people" and architecture. This
includes buildings made of metal sheets and
red bricks, among others. The artist attempts
to construct his own building of blocks, while
also incorporating elements like LEGO, which
young people enjoy, to create a playful blend
of old and new.
