Description
Mixing several styles of Northern Wei stone
tablets to show the transformation and
evolution of standard and clerical scripts,
which differ from the traditional Tang
standard script. Blending the structures and
techniques of standard and clerical scripts,
and alternating speed and strength of writing,
a hall-set is created in the format of Dragon
Gate to combine the features of both couplets
and hall-set calligraphy; small characters are
written in the blank space at the center to
capture the course of history and a primitive
charm, making a breakthrough from the
conventional understanding that it is difficult
to create new styles for standard script.
