HSIUNG Yu

Description
Poetry chronicles various types of men, things,
and sceneries, transforming into the landscapes
of life through silent yet rich emotions in time
and history.
I referenced the imagery of poem “A Spring
Day” by Zhu Xi from the Southern Song dynasty,
and used innovative expression of oil painting
for the abstract oriental ink wash painting.
The interwoven lines cannot be duplicated by
the rich and thick texture of the oil paint, and I
utilized the concealing technique and scratched
out the most delicate landscapes and plants
using a tool, expressing the idea that poetry and
painting mark the shortest distance between
the mind and the spirit.
Words are hidden in poetry, and poetry is hidden
in painting, which have woken me up like the
morning bell.
