Description
A lady sits with legs spread. She has revolted
against society's rules that women should be
careful in their behavior. People might even
think this lady is having sex or masturbating. Position 77 80 95cm
Chairs are the typical sign of societal hierarchy
and power, so the chair highlights the conflicts
between strength and weakness, the private
and public, in 2-D. The flaking paint shows an
object has been used and abandoned, such
as if we give up the pressure of one's virginity.
"Women" and "battle" therefore become sharp
terms, as we measure the power of gender by
seeing objects and there are dialectical opinions
regarding it. Who actually gets the power in
such a sensitive position?
