Description
Human civilization begins to rust and crumble under the weather as time passes, becoming
a kind of positioned fragility. The lock possesses a tight and enclosed force that converses
with the bolt; the solid and sealed appearance turns into broken magnificence during the
process of rusting. The painting focuses on the bolt and forms an arrow, pointing backward
in combination with the wooden bars in the background, completing the best interaction
between the door lock and bolt. The door is a physical creation which leads people forward;
by contrast, the lock obstructs people’s desires to move forward. Through the expression
of a magnificent, rich rusting pattern I display the corresponding relationship between the
208 lock and bolt, illustrating a backward thinking as well as instruction against the common
rationale.
