In recent years, I have been fond of writing poetry like literati. I have carved some modern
poems I wrote in 2021 into a set of seals. “Expressing Emotions through Poetry and
Calligraphy” is a five-character quatrain expressed through the styles of ancient stamps and
bronze inscriptions: “Calligraphy and poetry are connected with the heart; songs and odes gather
emotions,” “Historical anthologies constantly by my side, what a joy reading them that I forget
to sleep.” For “Cultivation through Poetry and Calligraphy,” I created seals in the styles of Wu
Chang-shuo and Xu San-geng: “As the rooster crows, the dancing brush spreads the fragrance of
ink;” “music is played on string instrument by the window.” “Monuments and inscriptions inject
elegant charm into life,” “what a pastime to learn and write poetry.” In addition to combining
calligraphy and seal engraving, I also add a touch of poetry.
