            Description
This work consists of three parts. The white-on-
black work in the middle features LI Yangbing's
            "Modest Hexagram Inscription," where the
characters are written in white ink to create a visual
e ect of rubbing; the style remains consistent with
the original stele. The top part displays "Qiangua
Ming (Modest Hexagram Inscription)" written in
small seal script. The bottom features an excerpt
from my thesis "Origins of LI Yangbing's Seal Script,"
and inscription. The paper analyzes the style of the
stele, as well as the origins of the four characters:
Qian (modest), Dao (The Way), Di (earth), Xiang
            (Form).
