                                       Festival of Art Design, Zheleznovodsk  This“Battle Wounds”triptych symbolically portrays events from the Second
                                                                            World War. For every soldier fi ghting to save the fl ag, it was a matter of honor.
                                                                            In this fi ght for the fl ag, they offered their lives to guard it and brought it back
                                                                            after combat, sewed and restored. I wanted to convey the relationship between
                                                                            man and fl ag, showing that the fl ag's value was comparable to that of human
                                                                            life. The main character of the triptych is a soldier who has just returned from
                                                                            combat. He was wounded and in his hand he holds a symbolic fl ag. On the
                                                                            edges, the nurse and another soldier bandage the wounds and sew up the
                                                                            soldiers' fl ag, enlarging upon the prevailing image of heroism.
