Description
This creation is an extension of the "Je Suis A
Paris" series. One of the appealing elements is
Paris, where I longed to be for ages. Now Je
Suis A Paris has arrived in Paris and transformed
into a dragon, as people in East Asia are known to
consider themselves the "Dragon Descendants".
Departing from Taiwan, this dragon finally
made its way to Paris after an arduous journey
and grew up in a foreign land. I drew from my
European travel experiences and chose a cross
Je Suis A Paris 140 135cm to symbolize the concept of sin in the Christian
religion. The snake responsible for coaxing Adam
to bite into the forbidden fruit in the Garden of
Eden later on evolved into a European dragon.
In the West, the role of a dragon is usually evil,
reflecting the fundamental difference between
Eastern and Western cultures.
