Description
It’s been 20 years since I took up seal engraving, which has now filled over half of my life. Joining contests

has been one of my ways to examine and encourage my creation. Over the years, I’e been fortunate to
have been recognized with awards. Nevertheless, the awards have also made me rethink the relationship
between winning and creating. In retrospect, I realized my works have honestly documented my happiness
and sorrow—my growth. I once envisioned the landscape of my life constructed out of the awards I won from
each competition. However, as I’e entered my 40s, it has dawned on me that the real value of my creation lies

not in the glory or compliments conferred by all the exhibitions, but in the creation itself. Perhaps letting go of
one’s self-centeredness is the only way to step out of the box and embrace the landscape towards infinity.
