་ɛ瘂ָ”ɪࣧ•j˜ίⱒ௥͞㛪˼ࡁ༾Ԉ௰ɽٙึ኷dϾ Poet Ya-Hsien wrote in “The Colonel”: “In the buckwheat field they
fought the biggest battle of the campaign/And his leg bade farewell in
˼ٙɓૢၺ஠й׵ɓɘ̬ɧϋn™dໝ໔׵ၽᝄdହӀ݊˨
1943…” Coming over to Taiwan, a military dependent’s village was where
ፋໝή͛࣬ձҢڗɽٙή˙fᅰɤϋΈ௕d̴Ԉᗇəହ˒ٙ Father finally settled down and I grew up. Decades of time witnessed
͛ϼषϥeేᛇઋlவၪᖩ࢕ૄઋชٙହӀdΪִ݁݁ഄϾ the life and death, and joy and sorrow, of those living here! This military
dependent’s village that held the family bond together was appropriated
ቊᅄϗװৰd݊஢ε֢Иίவ෯ɺή٫ːʕٙ೨dᔟ͟வЪ
and taken down under the government’s policy, causing much pain in the
ۜяତাኳٙݴ஻ชၾೌجΫూٙ࢕෤จ൥f hearts of those who lived here. Through this work, I present the feeling of
lost memory and the image of a homeland that cannot be restored.
