“I paint, therefore I am” is appropriated from French philosopher Ң݂Ңί݊੬ɛਗ਼جࡪኪ̔ဧٙࡪኪնᕚ
René Descartes’ philosophical statement “I think, therefore I am.”
Living in this world, we are always exploring the meaning of life, Ңܠ݂Ңίdה࣑͜ᔷ౬ϾԸٙf
and the value of own existence. It is even more so the case when ɛ͛ί˰dҢࡁᐼίઞীɛ͛ٙจ່eІҢπίᄆ࠽fϾ࿁ ɝ፯
it comes to painting. We constantly and repeatedly consider this ᖭ௴Ъɪһ݊νϤfҢࡁᐼίӊɓഅeӊɓʘʕˀᔧ Short List
problem through every brushstroke, sometimes even breaking
free from “self” to consider the “existence” of the work. As for ̘ܠ॰வࡈਪᕚdϞࣛޟЇ݊୭ᕎəҢ͉Ԓd̘ܠϽЪ
the meaning of the value of “own existence” in this world, it is ۜٙπίfϾ࿁ІҢٙπίί˰ɪٙᄆ࠽ϞОจ
insigni cant, empty, or blurry without a purpose…. ່d݊ʃeൈೌeҵא݊ᅼᇔӚϞͦٙٙ······
This work makes use of the complicated relationships between ͉Ъᔟഹɛيe፟ၾ፹ၝٙዓ࣬ʘගٙᗫڷԸяତІҢᄆ࠽
the characters, cat, and entangling roots of the tree to present the
mental state during the exploration of the value of self. ʘઞীٙːଣً࿒f
