Description
According to legends, Immortal
Maiden of the Ninth Heaven is a
goddess that has human head
and the body of a bird. According
to Classic of Mountains and Seas:
Classic of the Mountains – West:
"There is a bird, which has the
body of a rooster, and face of man,"
"There is a bird, which has the body
of an owl, human face, and only
one leg."
This year, we have the forest fires
and outbreak of coronavirus, and
the guardian god Immortal Maiden
of the Ninth Heaven seems to be
helpless. I use the scene of a bird
being grilled to represent this age
of disasters.
