            Description
The focus of this painting is new and old
buildings standing against the backdrop of
            the Mitsukoshi Department Store shopping
district. From the squat, battered one-
floor traditional houses of the 50s and
            weathered elevator-free apartment buildings
of the 80s to modern, mushrooming high-
rise architecture, the transformation of the
city is clearly documented. Golden tinfoil
and powder were utilized to illustrate light
and reflections at sunset after the rain. The
conflict between modern and traditional times
is delineated via the display of the old and
new buildings. The task of finding a balance
in between is what everybody has to face. 市 Our World, Our City 145.5 112cm
